May 6 – June 1, 2016
Opening Reception May 4, 6 – 10 pm
Peter Feiler takes part at the group-exhbition ‘Les Miniatures’,
at Galerie Nicole Gnesa, Munich, organized by Codex Berlin
The exhbition addresses the theme of miniatures in contemporary art and explores the question of how artists deal with the very small size. The maximum size of the works exhibited is limited to 15 x 15 x 15 cm.
It is precisely the diversity of modern art, however, with its many forms of expression, differences in terms of content and countless stylistic possibilities that make this exhibition so special. The preparations alone in most cases differ from the artists’ usual work. There are almost no pieces on canvas. Each of the materials used is selected to correspond to fit the format – often unconventional materials, paints and dyes. Moreover, exhibitions of miniatures in contemporary European art are an absolute rarity. We are attempting to provide insights into this genre in contemporary art from various perspectives and have therefore invited artists with widely differing backgrounds and approaches.
